2% of Scotland’s land now rewilding, new figures reveal
A remote ancient woodland – home to Scotland’s oldest wild Scots pine, which is at least 565-years-old – has been saved from being lost forever and given a chance of regeneration thanks to Trees for Life, as part of the charity’s vast Affric Highlands rewilding initiative.
Launched at the conclusion of a high-level gathering in Vienna, the European Rewilding Coalition brings together Europe’s leading practical rewilding organisations. By working together, the coalition membership will accelerate landscape-scale rewilding across the continent.
An expanding alliance The 12,000-hectare Attadale Estate in Scotland has just become the thirteenth estate to become an official partner of the Affric Highlands rewilding coalition, signing a memorandum of understanding in early September.
